In 2009 Beyoncé serenaded the President and First Lady at the inauguration ball for their first dance. Barack And Michelle danced away into history as Beyoncé sang Etta James’ 1960 At Last. Five years later in 2013 she sang the National Anthem at the inauguration in Washington, DC. It’s only fair that at the 2017 inauguration the Obamas return the favour and sing at Beyonce’s Presidential Inauguration.
Yes, Beyoncé for President.
There are many traits and characteristics that a good leader should have. The American nation is looking for a President that is trustworthiness, reliable, tolerant, honest, accountability, authentic, upholds the constitutional values, open-minded, responsible among many other characteristics that a leader should posses. They want a natural born leader that was destined to be in a position of power.
Beyoncé has the focus, creativity, passion and humility that the nation seeks.
1. Beyoncé’s name in itself says a lot about what she can do for the country.
what’s in a name? Well, everything. There is power in a name. We place value in our names because that is what represent our identification as a person. So, What’s in the name of Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter. Well, Beyoncé is an African-American name which means “beyond others.” Her middle name Giselle is a French name meaning pledge (So, I foresee her pledging herself to the American nation, without hesitation.) Her maiden name Knowles is celtic and refers to one who lives atop a hill or summit but for the purposes of my advancement for Beyoncé for President, we will change that to one who shall live in the White House. Just to further illustrate that she was destined for this. Her husband’s surname Carter is Gaelic and English. Carter comes from the old English word “caretarius” meaning guard. So, you get it. Beyoncé will Guard the American from all the supposed threats of terrorism it is constantly under. Her name is so iconic. That she once responded it as if it were a compliment.
2. A president must make creative moves that work for the advancement of social and political well being of their citizens
In 2001 Beyoncé alongside her Destiny’s Child members released a Song called Bootylicious. Although, the word Bootylicious was first used by rapper Snoop Dogg in the early 90s. Beyoncé belting out the word Bootylicious had a different appeal. The word Bootylicious is recognized by the Oxford English Dictionary. Although the word means “(of a woman) sexually attractive.” Beyoncé wrote this song in celebration of a woman’s body and this is one of her few anthems that are body positive . Beyoncé has made political and social statements dancing in a leotard that stand much more firm than trump’s apparent wig. Beyoncé political stance has never been a matter of trendiness. Besides that would wouldn’t want an innovative Presidents ? A president that is relatable to a child growing up in ghetto and one studying Stanford University?
3.A President that will forever be remembered.
George Washington will forever be remembered as president of the Constitutional Convention, Who will forget Marilyn Monroe singing “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy on his 45th birthday or the first black president Barack Obama.
Beyoncé earned herself the Guinness World Book of Records for fastest-selling album on iTunes for her surprise release of her fifth solo album; for breaking Twitter after announcing her pregnancy in 2011. She has won the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award; Fashion Icon Award; 20 Grammy’s Awards ; has performed in the biggest Stadiums ; has been awarded by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers; she recognized is one of the best artists of this century and has countless amount of accolades, performances and ballads that she will forever be remembered for.
4. Beyoncé speaks out against one of America’s biggest problems : Police brutality.
During her Glasgow Formation Tour stow she stop the show to display the names of police brutality victims in America. She expressed her outage via a letter on her website too. In the letter she simply says:
‘We are sick and tired of the killings of young men and women in our communities.
‘It is up to us to take a stand and demand that they ‘stop killing us.’
‘We don’t need sympathy. We need everyone to respect our lives.
‘We’re going to stand up as a community and fight against anyone who believes that murder or any violent action by those who are sworn to protect us should consistently go unpunished.’
She has continuously shown her support for Black Lives Matter through her artist.
5. She can defy Gravity.
Whilst performing at the Super Bowl 50 halftime show Beyoncé stumbled for a brief moment. Beyoncé and her dancers were mid way their flawless routine , as per usual, when Beyoncé did a backwards hop and lost her footing. But since she is Beyoncé she did fall. Lets just say the fall Beyoncéd. Proving she can do anything.
Defy gravity? check
That’s not enough?
So, the the question that remains is ….
